The Ordering Process
I really like the design but I don't see the colors I was hoping for- can I get a different color?
We offer a variety of colors that we have determined look best when printed on our printer and on our papers. (View our color pallette here.) However, if there is a specific shade that you would like we can work with you to create a custom color for a fee of $25.
Is it possible to use different fonts than what is shown?
We have several options of available fonts. Click here to view our Script Fonts. Click here to view our Traditional Fonts.
How many proofs do I get?
For a Signature Design you are allowed two proofs without charge. There is a $10 charge for each additional proof beyond the initial two. For Custom Design orders there are several stages of proofing included in the price.
How quickly will I receive a proof after I place my order?
We typically will send your proof within 48 hours (usually faster!) of receiving your order. If the turnaround time will be longer we will notify you when your order is received.
How quickly does my order ship once I have approved the proof?
Orders take two to three weeks for completion. We will notify you when your order has shipped. Please note that Custom Design orders may take longer depending on the project and we will provide you with an estimated timeline.
Can I cancel my order after I have received my proof, but my invitations have not been printed yet?
There will be a $20 non-refundable design fee if you cancel your order after you have received your proof.
Custom Designs
How long does the custom invitation process take?
Custom designs typically take two to three months from beginning to end, but depending on the project they can sometimes take longer. That is why we recommend that you start the design process three to four months before you plan on sending your invitations. Rush orders are available for an additional $100 fee.
Do you do other custom designs besides wedding invitations?
Yes! We can do custom designs for anything you want! Birthday invitations, birth announcements, party invitation - whatever your special occasion is we can design something completely unique just for you!
What kind of information do you need to design my custom invitations?
As much info as you can provide us right from the start the better, and quicker, we can get your design started. Your wedding colors, themes, specific papers or embellishments you wish to use, and what style of invitation you would like (Pocket-fold, Envelefold, Gate-Fold, Flat, etc.).
It is also helpful to let us know what extras you would also like for the invitations, such as Directions Cards, Accommodation Cards, Reception Cards, as well as other elements for your wedding such as Programs, Menus, Place Cards, etc.
Is it possible to see a printed sample of my custom invitations before I order them?
Although we completely understand why you would like to see a sample of your completed invitation, due to the nature of custom design it is not possible to provide you with a totally complete sample. However, we will try to accommodate any requests for paper samples or print samples of the different components so that you have some idea of what the finished product will look like. This is in addition to digital PDF proofs that we will provide you with throughout the entire design process.
Invitation Ettiquette
How far in advance should wedding invitations be sent?
Six to eight weeks, unless you sent Save The Date cards, then you can usually wait until six to four weeks before the wedding.
How far in advance should Save The Date cards be sent?
Save The Date cards should be sent a year to nine months before the wedding date.
What is the proper way to include our parents names on the invitation?
If the bride's parents are paying for the wedding then it is proper to word the invitation: 'Mr. & Mrs. Bride's Parents request the honor of your presence....'
If both the bride's and groom's parents are contributing to the cost of the wedding then you should also include the groom's parents after the groom's name on the invitation: ' ...the wedding of their daughter Beatrice Anne to Gregory Manning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Manning...'
We're paying for most of the wedding- how do we word the invitation?
If the bride and groom are footing the entire bill for the wedding then they can word the invitation however they please. They can include their parent's names or leave them off- anything goes!
I have two sets of parents, how do I list them on the invitation?
There are a couple of ways to do this. One is you cay say 'Together with their families' or 'Together with their parents' instead of listing out each one individually. But if it means a lot to you to list each person then you would word it: 'Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Sullivan' (on the first line) 'and Ms. Karen Tilton' (on the second line) 'request the honor of your presence....' (starting on the third line).
The reception is not going to be right after the ceremony- do we need to include a seperate reception card?
If the reception is going to be held in a seperate location and/or a couple of hours after the ceremony, then a reception card is a nice touch. However, it is not necessary if you include the information at the bottom of the main invitation. Many of our designs allow for ample room at the bottom to accommodate more detailed instructions for these instances.
